Research on K-12 Online Learning in the United States

ABSTRACT
Educational informatization is the basis and condition for realizing educational modernization, and it is important content and the main symbol of educational modernization. "Online Learning" can promote the integration of information technology and teaching and cultivate students' autonomous learning ability in an informationized environment. It is another manifestation of the development of science and technology to support educational reform. As one of the countries with the highest level of education informatization in the world today, the United States has accumulated rich experience in online learning for K-12 (from kindergarten to grade 12) in collaborative operation and quality assurance. This article conducts specific analysis and research on the development process, main features, participants, and operating mechanism of K-12 online learning in the United States, quality supervision and guarantee system, etc. The research results show that K-12 online learning in the United States has realized the coordinated operation of all subjects. Optimized the guarantee of the learning process through gamification design, real-time testing and personalized guidance, the establishment of learning communities, offline interaction, etc., and further clarified the qualifications and development requirements of online teachers and other teacher guarantees and emphasized the responsibilities and performance of all parties.
